Vecchio Faro Residence

Negli anni ’60, dal progetto di Michelino Giua e Miranda Binacchiella, nasceva il ristorante “La Lucciola”.
 

Sala, cucina e bar si trovavano al piano terra di quella che ora è la nostra casa privata, mentre le camere con stufe a legna si trovavano in quello che è il piano terra del Residence odierno. All’interno del garage, invece, erano stati costruiti dei vasconi per l’allevamento delle anguille e, nella zona del parco, era presente un laghetto con un isolotto dal caratteristico “faro” (il traliccio in ferro tutt’ora presente), che evocava i ricordi di marinaio della Marina Mercantile di nonno Michelino.
 

Successivamente, negli anni '70, si decise di ampliare l’attività sulle rive demaniali del lago; nacque, quindi, “Il Gabbiano”.
 

Il ristorante e bar furono spostati nell’area nuova e vennero avviate altre attività tra cui spiaggia, piscina per bambini, pista da ballo esterna, campetto da calcio, pontile per attracco barche, posteggio barche dei pescatori, laghetto artificiale per la pesca sportiva, parco giochi per bambini, ecc…

Al cambio generazionale, si decise di cedere l’attività lungolago che, purtroppo, ha subito un processo di degrado dove la natura si è ripresa i suoi spazi.

Non volendo lasciare completamente l’attività di ospitalità, invece, si decise per alcuni lavori di ristrutturazione e, a cavallo tra gli anni ’90 e il 2000, nacque il Vecchio Faro Residence.

I lavori di ristrutturazione comportarono la miglioria del piano terra già esistente, la costruzione di un primo piano con tetto in fotovoltaico, la bonifica del laghetto, la realizzazione della piscina e del parco.

Ad oggi rimane invariato l’aspetto della casa privata ed il caratteristico “faro”, da cui abbiamo deciso di prendere il nome.

In the 1960s, "La Lucciola" restaurant was born from the project of Michelino Giua and Miranda Binacchiella.

The dining room, kitchen and bar were located on the ground floor of what is now our private home, while the hospitality rooms with wood stoves were located on the ground floor of today's Residence. Inside the garage, on the other hand, tanks had been built for the breeding of eels and, in the park area, there was a pond with an islet with a characteristic "lighthouse" (the iron trellis still present), which evoked the memories of grandfather Michelino as a merchant navy sailor.

Subsequently, in the 1070s, the family decided to expand the business on the state-owned shores of the lake; therefore, "Il Gabbiano" was born.
 

The restaurant and bar were moved to the new area and other activities were started including beach, children's pool, outdoor dance floor, football pitch, boat dock, fishing boat parking, artificial lake for sport fishing, children playground, etc...
 

At the generational change, it was decided to sell the lakeside business which, unfortunately, has undergone a process of decay and it was reclaimed by the Nature.
 

Not wanting to completely leave the hospitality business, however, he decided on some renovations and, at the turn of the 90s and 2000s, the Vecchio Faro Residence was born.
 

The renovation works involved the improvement of the existing ground floor, the construction of a first floor with a photovoltaic roof, the reclamation of the pond, the construction of the swimming pool and the park.
 

Today, the appearance of the private house and the characteristic "lighthouse", from which we take the name, remain unchanged.
